ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: This retablo is very nice even thought it has had some restoration. This is a very hard to find subject matter.

ADDITIONALCOMMENTS: A excellent and rare presentation of Santo Domingo holding a Monstrance and a book of rules for his order. This representation is quite different than what is normally shown for Santa Domingo becaue is is usually shown with a dog at his side.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Shows John the Baptist holding a bible with a lamb on it. Also holding a cross and a banner. A nice red church in the background. This retablo is somewhat dark, but a great painting of a rare retablo.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Attributed to the painter Concepcion Avila. A beautiful retablo in exceptional condition because it has been inside an inclosed wooden box frame for its entire life. There is not the customary nail hole in the top of this retablo.
